The Woven Story
"The Nilambari, literally meaning 'the blue of the night sky', is a pattern that dates back to the royal courts of the 17th century. Each motif you see—the delicate 'Butidar' dots—is not merely decoration; it represents the stars that guided weavers across the subcontinent."
Our Nilambari is woven on a traditional pit-loom in Varanasi. The process begins with the 'Tanchoi' technique, where additional weft threads are introduced to create a three-dimensional texture that catches the light differently as you move.
Arjun K., our master weaver, has spent four decades perfecting the 'Zari' integration. He uses a blend of pure silver and gold-dipped threads, ensuring the saree ages into a vintage masterpiece that can be passed down through generations.
